Well I jumped on the band wagon with the removal of the secondary throttle plates on my 06 10r.:scared I was a little nervous because I have spent so much time gettting my bike right were I wanted it power band wise.
hno It wheelies real easy in 1st 2nd and third with my new map and I didnt want to ruin that. :crazylocoSo I first bought a used set off Ebay for $50 shipped to my door. And guess what it was missing the secondary plates!:rant Oh well didnt need em anyway. The plan was not to only remove the plates, but I never could figure out why everybody left the secondary shaft in there as it definitely would disrupt airflow at upper RPMs.:headscratch So I took apart, and removed the butterfly motor and shaft sensor. Realizing I would pick up codes, if they were disconnected, once I removed the shaft I pluged up the holes and cut the shaft down welded it back together, and mounted the controls back on a apparatus that would allow the CPU to think it was still controlling. I plan to replace the motor and sensor with resistors soon, but wanted to test it out.:mfclap Holy crap the throttle response is instant:scared like right now. It didnt gain any or loose any torque which makes me a happy camper:mfclap. Its animal
hno It defiantly lost user friendliness.:rant For example cold start idles real low, but once warmed up its fine. And on hot restart you have to knick the throttle but so far it doesnt bother me:mfclap And on the possitive side no more back fire from removing the exhaust valves :crazyloco So check the pics and I wil keep all informed.
