yes..you are going to want them. i assume its your first bike, and your going to drop it so you might want to get them to protect it.

 

but if the sliders are directly attached to your frame or swing arm, is there any danger of bending the frame or swing arm?

 

The sliders will protect from any major damage to the Frame if the bike slides when laid down. If you wrap it around a tree or car your screwed.
