05 636 It ran great before winter then I let it sit and the battery went dead on it so I just got it out and tried to charge it. I went to start it and the starter switch started to make a buzzing sound so i figured it was bad I ordered a new one put it on and it did the same thing. I checked all fuses but they were all good. I dont know if there is a fuse somewhere under the tank or not but I cant figure it out if anyone could help. thanks

so i took the tank off and i turned the key. There is just a clicking noise coming from a little box on the inside of the frame on the right side. It is right next to the air box tucked down in there. I cant find it in any diagrams at all. When I try to start it it still makes the buzzing sound from the starter switch. The exhuast valve doesnt open and close when I first turn the key anymore??????????

LONG STORY SHORT, JUMPED MY BIKE WITH MY TRUCK, LET IT RUN THEN TURNED IT OFF AND IT WOULDNT START AND MADE A BUZZING NOISE. JUMPED IT AGAIN AND DID NOT TURN OFF TILL I RODE FOR 15-20MINS. PROBLEM SOLVED!!

I just had the battery do the same for me as this weekend was my first day out riding. I did it ghettoly and just jump start it with my truck. I didnt turn the truck on, which i didnt think it was a good idea within the first place so all i did was start the bike and it worked. After letting it run for 10 mins or so i turned the bike off and get ready to go for a ride. Came back out and the bike did the buzzing noise thinger maggiger. So I had to jump the bike again and this time i didnt turn the bike off, i just rode off with it and rode around for about 15-20mins or so and everything back to normal.

yeah i disconnected the battery leads and hooked the battery charger right to the leads and applied 12v and its still doing it. When i turn the key normaly the exhuast valve opens and closes one time but its not even doing that with the charger hooked up to it. All it does is make little ticking noises threw out the motor and I still get that buzzing sound. Its driving me crazy its so nice out today lol

Try jump starting it instead of the charger they often dont have enough power to start the bike just charge the battery thats why a charger can take a while to charge a battery

i had the same problem, i went to meet a friend, sat in a parking lot for about an hour and when i went to start it the buzzing occured, i used a booster box and said fahq it and drove off and haven't had any problems since. a friend of mine did say that the battery is losing charge and that it would happen again, but hell man i'd juss ride tha sh*T outta it, lol

if i leave my bike standing for a week or 2, it does the same thing, my alarm drains the battery, jump the bike and after riding for 20-30 mins should be ok, best idea is to start it every few days even if your not riding!

If a battery goes completely dead, it'll never charge up to the same level as before even if it's new. Every time it goes dead, it gets weaker. Don't know exactly why, must have something to do with the chemistry. Also, be careful jump-starting a bike with a car-you can fry components because they were not designed to handle so much amperage.

new problem when i get it running it runs good with the charger on but when i turn it off the bike dies. I gave alittle throttle to it and shut the charger off it will run but the speedometer and rpm gauge go out but the nuetral light and the background light are still on? I think I need to go get a new battery?

bring the battery to a shop and have it tested before you buy a new one.
