When I got this bike about 2 weeks ago I promised I would give a complete description of everything I got with it. This will take awhile and there will be many photos....

Of course, there's the bike:

In the deal I got all the parts the previous owner had ever acquired for the bike.

I got the race stands too.

Well here I go bumping an older thread, but alas I really wanted to comment on those fabulous wheels.

I actually owned a similar set on an older 1989 ZX7 H1. Made by PM (Performance Machine) they were actually called Mitchell Wheels and everyone that owned them way back then didn't call them PM wheels they called them Mitchell wheels after the name of the man (Dick Mitchell) who designed them.

Mine weren't the pretty blue, but the bare alloy that shined out like chrome. What I really liked about them was whats not easily seen in the pictures and that the sprocket bolted directly to the wheel, NO cush drive and no driveline slack.

When I got them used the rims were all scratched up as they came from a former racer, but being bare alloy and not anodized, some elbow grease with very fine sandpaper restored them to like new status.

Sadly one of my many bike mistakes in life was selling those wheels with the bike. I would never EVER do that over again had I had the chance.

As cool as my BST wheels are now, almost every Tom, Dick and Harry have those and they will never have the cool factor those old rare Mitchell wheels will always have.

Really a piece of history those wheels. And the exact wheels MUZZY used on his early ZX7 Superbikes.

Hey, been looking through this post and being this was/is a previous race bike and now back to factory, what do you do about starting? The 93 race bike I picked up is still full race, so no starter. Also with frame stiffener the starter won’t fit from the looks of it by comparing to the 92 (now that the engine is back in) we picked up at the same time.

Don't get confused. Nothing here is for sale. Some people wanted to know what I got in this deal and I promised to let everyone know. I also got the race bodywork with the bike. I'll post pictures of that later.

Beautiful bike Mike!! Nice score. Too bad on the tank. Have you spotted any aluminum tanks to throw on it? Seems the tank, R exhaust hangar and shock are the only stock pieces missing.

That spare exhaust looks like an Akrapovic pipe with a Muzzy can by the looks of the head connectors.

I have the original tank. It's painted to match the race bodywork. I'm going to be on the look out for another 7R tank to make the bodywork on the bik correct and complete, but I'm in no hurry for that right now. I don't want to paint the original back to stock because this bike has historical significance and a real racing pedigree. It's raced in AMA,WSB and the Macau Grand Prix. The former rider also holds the mileage record at Daytona International Speedway for motorcyclists. So this bike helped establish that record over the 4 years he raced it at Daytona. The paint job on the race bodywork is the only one that's been on it since it was converted to a superbike back in the day.

I have all the other parts (shock and exhaust hanger) for it.

I currently have seven ZX7's and 7R's. Right now I'm selling nothing that will fit a ZX7. Sorry.

#21 ·
I promised you that you would be the first person I would contact if I were to sell anything. I'm stating it publicly as well. I promise you I will give you first option on any parts from that bike if I sell anything.

Ricky Orlando rode it but didn't own it. I bought it from the team owner/mechanic that built it for Ricky to ride.

#29 ·
They would, but I have a few more 7's to build and they will be on one of them. Probably the 94 ZX7R (M2).
