I just got this bike, I did a little trading for it. I was there when the guy took it apart and it was running before he started taking it apart. I have been working on putting it back together and just got to a point where I wanted to start it. Things that have been done, ignition switch replaced, turn signals replaced front and rear. battery has a full charge. It will not crank. when the ignition is turned on nothing happens in the cluster, but the signals and hazards work and thats about it. No crank, no click click, naadddaaa. I have checked all the fuses that are under the seat. everythingis good. any ideas?

Follow the positive wire back from the battery until you find the starter solenoid. There is a 30 ampfuse on it....

If you are talking about the one under the seat, it was blown and i replaced it. It is still good, just double checked it. Still nothing. Thanks for the reply.

For some reason I am still leaning towards that little relay. what happens when you jump a wire to the starter?
the starter cranks, but the fuel pump does not come on when i turn the ignition on. the gauges do not work. nothing works except the hazards and signals. i have tested all the wires coming off the ignition switch and they all are getting the power they should. all the fuses are still good.
i dont know if yours is like this but my 00 zx-9 under the air box close to the front of the engine there is a connector that connects the ignition switch and other stuff take it apart and inspect it mine had a bit of corrosion on some pins with i sanded and put dielectric grease.

Blown fuse to begin with means there was something to cause it. Disconnect the battery and do a careful trace of all associated wiring, including ground connections.
Since the gauge cluster won't light, do a comprehensive fuse check.
If no other fuses are blown, it may be that you just overlooked a connector somewhere. They're all over the place. Do you have the service manual. If so, go over reassemby line by line. I bet you'll find it.
Also, since you bought the bike as a disassembled unit, carefully review and trace all systems using the service manual to make sure nothing is left out.

Thanks for all the help, i had to take the tank off and trace all the wires, there was one little lonely brown wire all by its lonesome that had grounded out and burned. The clear cover over the connection had slipped out of place. Thanks again for all the help.
