this only refers to roller bearing cranks like the kz and gs cranks. plain bearing cranks like the late model stuff still uses factory bearings. there are no aftermarket bearing suppliers.
Agreed. I'm familiar with the welding, pinning, and billet sections for those cranks. I don't see how the plain bearing cranks could be stronger unless he was talking $5k billet cranks. Although with some of the dimensionals changed, there could be an added measure of durability. In no way would it be required for the application. General rules of thumb for stock rods is 300hp for turbo and 250 for Nitrous. The crank is good to 600+, I thought

if i needed a crank i would just do it myself lol what they are doing isnt rocket science if i ever dive into building mine i would v cut the crank and pendulm cut what is left of the counter weight. over balance it cryo and nitrite it it is a steel crank stock i know it would be gd for 200hp with out a problem.

just for info

hi guys, was just just looking for some info and came across this thread. ive got an OMS single seater with a zzr1100D. its built by extreme engines with falicon rods, 1109cc etc. originally had the flatslides fitted and made 164bhp @ wheels.
now gone to fuel injection with busa throttle bodies and microsquirt ecu. response is so much better and made 175@wheels at 9700rpm and 110ftlbs at 8400rpm with stock timing. had some issues with trigger wheels, gone through 8 custom wheels to get it to work. gna try again this week coz there is another 15bhp in timing according to dyno printouts. thought info might help anyone wanting to build same thing.

I was hoping the OP would have a update..

:lol

Id love to see your project too!
I guess there are a few people in malta that enjoy the zx11 also!

hi guys, ive been trying to resize and compress but they are stupid small and you wont see anything. If anyone wishes to give me an email address or facebook i can send them on that.

problem with the trigger wheel was it was not sensing the gap no matter the size of it or spacing, even tried with two pickups on it. we are now going to fit a cam sensor this weekend to see if we can solve it. there is a lot more power left in the timing so i hope it works. if not going to try an advancer but thats going to increase throughout the band and im happy with the bottom end dont want any pinking, just need to whack the timing up at high rpm.

cheers! ohh yeah and there are a couple of other zzr1100 in Malta, one of them is rotrex supercharged running on motec, very nice setup! thats my next step if i cant catch the top 3 :)

Thanks Lee1111 ill ask someone who understands these things.

Crank wheel gave us some issues, was picking up noise at 5000rpm once fixed ran smooth! dynod this morning and gave increase though the whole graph both power and torque. Up to 186bhp @ wheels @ 10500 rpm and 116ftlb @ 7800rpm. much more usable power.

its incredible how rich she likes to run, leaning it was just dropping power.

What do you do with the car?

You can easily install coil on plug by using ZX12 and other cop units, and you can run the cops sequential with the MS2, and tune them individually (injectors also) with the MS3.

Or you could run each pair in series just like stock.

It would look so much better without the plug wires.
