Hi folks, Please help me put this to bed. My drive is spinning up at higher revs on the last 3 gears. The bike is un-tampered and maintained. Mechanic said the clutch is in good condition and suggested an oilchange to synthetic. Currently running semi. Thanks for looking!

If you have the wrong kind of oil it will slip, but it would have to be the stuff that has the friction modifiers and crap for getting better mileage. And they don't make that kind of oil for motorcycles, so maybe you cheaped out and used the first oil you saw on the shelf last time?

Synthetic or not shouldn't have any effect on it.

I think you scored a direct hit, thanks! Had a look in the garage and it's Castrol Magnatec 1040, great for cars. Fuchs synthetic any good? I'm in Australia so we get different oils here.

Try to find Mobile 1 4T, and if you can't find that, see what the bike shop has. Anything designed for a wet clutch is better than what you are using now!
