Hello I'm having a problem with my 1995 Zx11, I bought it last year with a spun Number 2 Rod bushing. I took the engine apart and replaced Every bushing so right before winter i sealed the engine up, this week i put in all new oil and gas and it turned over fine but seemed like it wasn't getting Gas intake. I Took off the Carbs and cleaned them yesterday put them back on still nothing so i thought maybe the Cam Timing chain was off set so just fixed still nothing Idk if maybe its the Fuel Pump but it seems like its not getting Gas. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated!

Well, it could be a few things. Go back to basics first. Do you have spark, pull one of the plugs put it in the boot hold to the engine a see if there is a blue spark while turning the engine over. If there is no spark check wiring use a wiring diagram to comfirm it is correct. Next is fuel, is there fuel in the float bowls? Undo the float bowl screw and if there is fuel coming your good, if not check the fuel pump and filter and lines. Next is air is air able to get into the carbs, this one is straight forward. If you have these and still nothing check the timing chain to see that it is in the right place in accordance to the cam markings. If you had put it together earlier incorrectly and turned it over you could have inadvertantly bent the valves. If this may be the case it won't start, an easy way to check is to remove the carbs and rotate engine till each cylinder is at top dead center; put a little fuel into the intakes and see if it it stays in the the base of the valves, do the same with the exhaust side.

Ok i checked the Spark plugs everythings good there, Fuel was in the Float Bowls, Air is able to get into the Carbs, So it must be the valves going to have to wait til my Dad gets home hope we can get this going with in today or tomorrow Weathers just starting to get better :(

Ok so i pulled the Carbs and spark plugs checked to see if it was at top dead and it was, The Valves are perfectly fine I'm just not understanding why its not getting fuel? Im thinking it the carburetor even though I've cleaned it i just feel like fuel isn't going through it cause it sounds great when its turning over.

Is there fuel in the float bowls? If there is fuel in the float bowls that suggests the fuel pump is working. If there isn't any fuel in the floats bowls then back track to the fuel filter then fuel pump. If there is fuel in the float bowls; is the float bowl valve sticking and not letting fuel into the engine? Are the plugs wet? Maybe the float bowls are letting in too much fuel and flooding the cylinder.

Well my dad worked on the bike all day today still nothing one thing we found out was that the petcock was kinda clogged up, so my dad tried to force feed it without going through the fuel pump and it almost fired up(it was right there man i got pumped) but idk if that's a good idea to keep doing it or not. I'm going to keep trying to get it going today if not ill just send it over to ninja11zx and hope its nothing major.
