Hi everyone!

Yesterday I bought my first ZX-6R 2011!

Amazing bike!

It’s used (1000 miles aprox.) but like new. I know the old owner.

The problem is at 13.000 rpm or more, the red light at the right (See the picture, for reference only, it's not my bike) start blinking but the oil draw didn’t appear, just the red light blinking.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I slow down and a few seconds after, the red light goes off.

Do it every time I accelerate the bike, 1st, 2nd, 3er, 4th, gear.. it’s the same, always start blinking and goes off after I slow down.

I don’t have a clue off what’s going on!

Any advice will be extremely helpful

Thanks a lot to everyone!

Ps: I’m apologize because my English is not good :)

how did the person ride it before you got it? it's barely broken in so beating on it early may have damaged some seals internally. change the oil, get some new good stuff in there

Oil level should be in between the two lines. Not above. Need to check it with the bike standing up not leaned on the kickstand. Check on a flat surface after a few mins of engine shut off or in the morning to allow the oil to get down there. Do not check while running. If you have too much oil you can blow out seals. Dose the guy u got it from have the owners manul

Him take care of the bike, never pass 115 miles/h. The oil was changed 300 miles ago. I'ts transparent.

I call Kawasaki regional service and they say "Don't care, if the oil level is ok, don't care, bring it there for the 2nd service at 4000 km".

:(

Amazing.. I don't want to keep the bike with this problem :(

Did u get it from dealer or from ur friend? It might be under warranty still too. Depends on dealer I guess. I'd call where he got it from and check if you am transfer it. U should be able to.
I get if form dealer, because the last owner change it for a 14.

The dealer says "Don't worry, If your oil level it's fine, don't worry and when you bring it to us for 4000 kms service, we check it"

OMG!. I don't want to keep this red light blinking all the time I hit de 13K rpm!.

Red light never is a good sign :(

Well if that is in fact the oil light and it only happens a high RPMS then I have to wonder if the relief valve is working right..

At night, i test it again.

If I accelerate slowly, I hit 15K rpm without any problem.

If I accelerate fast, the motorcycle start to fail and NOW APPEARS "FI" WORD! and the bike cut the gas! I can't accelerate any more!. I've to stop (record the video) and power off. When I turn it on again, all works fine, I came back home slowly.

I'm going to kawasaki dealer at 9 am (now its 8:15 here in Uruguay).

I let yo know the result of this trouble.

So you know at 1000 miles the bike should not see over like 4 or 5 thousand RPM. I can't remember what the book says crazy you would take a new bike to redline.

Wow what a dumb problem, hopefully it didn't cause major issues from improper fuel/air ratio or anything.

I was going to mess with you earlier and say that the red light blinked every time you entered the really fun zone! haha
