Hi folks. Newbie here. I sold my Gen 1 FZ1 and am considering one of these 2 bikes. I've only sat on the Ninja yesterday but have never sen the Z1000. My primary questions are: are the drivetrains the same and is the Z1000 more upright at all? I like the Ninja but I'd like to be a little more upright. I found zero aftermarket solutions to swap out or extend the risers. Thanks

I have not sat on the z1000 but from the vids it is more of a sport touring style bike. I had the 06 Z750 and that is how it was. If you want to be able to get more aggressive in turns get the Ninja.

I went to a dealer today who had both. Amazingly, the both had pretty much the same ergonomics. The Z1000 may actually may have been more aggressive which surprises me. On the plus side, if you want to raise the bars, you have riser and bar options. Right now, to the best of my knowledge, there are no options for the Ninja 1000. The sales guy told me the drivetrains arevthe same.

I hear you on the Z1000.
It's aggressive styling and moto handlebars sure are sweet.

However, for only a bit more, you can get the Ninja 1000 with full fairing,
1 gallon larger gas tank and a nicer set of gauges, in my opinion.
The 3-position adjustable windscreen is kind of gimmicky but the luggage option is nice.
The Ninja 1000 has a 41-tooth rear sprocket (vs. the Z1000's 42-tooth rear)

Also, it has been my finding that the Ninja 1000 will cost about 600-700 more
a year for insurance (with bike paid off and no collision coverage).

As for the Ninja 1000 bar options you mentioned...
I found this on another forum - http://japan.webike.net/products/20005437.html

I was considering having a CNC shop to produce something similar
to the BEET TaperBar (below)

Also, be sure to check these out -

No.
your profile even has a website.
I don't think you're here to chat with the guys but to sell your products.
yes
I have no products to sell.
I am not affiliated (nor work for) anyone in the motorcycle industry.

True, I have a blog that I may get around to someday.
At the moment, I have a day job in telecom and I'm trying to save-up for either a Z1000/NINJA 1000.
It's going to be a tough climb though after being unemployed for 18 months.
I was making more on unemployment than I am currently taking home these days.
Just glad I'm back working.

First of all you need to introduce yourself and quit posting in bold.
Definitely doesn't look like normal forum behavior.
Relax and enjoy the forums.
Thanks for being patient and hearing me out.
I did not see a forum section set aside for introductions.
I apologize.
