greetings i have a 2008 zx6r. when i turn my bike off from riding i hear a noise coming from under my gas tank. Is the fuel pump still in or is it just a fan it cuts off after a while.
weird noise

is it when you hit the kill switch but still have it on? the fuel pump cycles when you turn it off. just like when you turn the key to on. it cycles to make sure it's fine

for how long is it supposed to continue to run it sounds like its on for another 5 mins

No, it should NOT run for another 5 min. Should be only for a second or 2 max, the same cycling time as when you turn the key to the on position... You may have an issue with you PCM since that is what controls the cycling of the pump... I'm not positive though..
Do you have stock muffler? could also be a problem with you servo motor which is under the front seat...
