Hi, I am new to sport touring machines. Are there tires available for the new Concours that can get good mileage? I know a lot depends on how you drive. I ride a Kawasaki Voyager now and put on a average of 16,000 miles a year. Mostley highway and mountain driving. I would hate to replace tires every 6 or 7 thousand miles.
Thank's, R.J.

I would expect the tyre life to be roughly the same as my FJR's over the last 70k miles

Bridgestone BT020 fronts about 8k miles, rears 5-6 k
Metzlers z6's front 8k rear 6k
Avon Azzaro ST(now discontinued) front 8k ++ rear 8k +
Avon storm ST front 8k+ rear 7k +

There is allways a fair amount of tread on the fronts when I do a tyre change but I prefer to change both at the same time before I go away

The bike is in the same weight range as an FJR, with more power. I am expecting to get less mileage than the FJR, under 10000 rear, 12000 front, which means , for me, changing them both out at under 10000. How much under remains to be seen, but it could be 6000-7000 miles.
