Hey everyone,

I just posted on the "new here thread" and seached around for a few minutes about tire choices.

Coming from a car tuning background, I'm kind of clueless when it comes to bike tires; hopefully, I can explain my riding style, and maybe someone can enlighten me.

Honestly, I'm pretty much a pansy. When I had my first bike, I had to lowside in a turn because I was unsure of the traction the tires offered. (I was really really new at riding) After that bike, I bought an '04 R6 (which never went down) but never took it near it's limits. NOW, I have a 1992 ZX-11... I know it may be too much bike for me, but it was an amazing deal that anyone would've taken. Really, it's inexpensive transportation that's A LOT more fun than a Ford Escort or something.

So, having said that, what is a tire with good grip, and will have the ability to sustain a long life with my "less-than-intense" riding style.

Thanks for any opinions you can offer!
Jeff

To add to my thread (and the bump it) I wanted to add that so far I'm leaning towards Michelin Pilot Road tires, F & R. They seem to be the most "tame" of the sportier style tires... and in the reviews I've read, they also seem to promote good wear patterns. Again, I'm not going to run this bike at the track; then again, I don't want to worry about how well my tires will grip.

I have had good luck with and very impressed with the Battleaxes BT020's
I totally agree on the bridgestone BT020 for the ZX11, but you could also look at the BT014's that now come standard on the ZX14. Will maybe give a little less mileage, but with some better traction. You never know when you are going to need the extra grip!:rofl
