I have a 2006 zx6r with 19k miles on the clock. Ive noticed over the last 800 miles or so there's a noise up in the top end. It sounds like ticking or clacking sound and speeds up with the throttle. Im assuming its the valves and they've loosened up, yet I know commonly they tighten up as the miles go up so Im just wondering if the noise is still most likely the valves. Also, if its important the noise was faint at first then after a couple hundred miles it got louder and so on until its at where it is now. Any insight into this is much appreciated..

Prob just need a valve adjustment or check your cct

^^ yep, with that kind of mileage you need a valve lash adjustment and install a APE CCT while your in there..

Cool thats what im thinking..im adjusting the cct right now..guess i should just do the valve adjustment too. I know it been said before but since were here what are the measurements im looking for and what do i need before i start the project? thanks

Yeah you'll adjust the auto CCT till the next tooth up or down, wears or chips and then it'll be back.

Thanks..Ya im going to order the ape cct and throw that in when i do the valves in the next couple weeks. Thats a great idea
