Sorry brother. Sorry. I hope there is enough insurance, but the insurance never covers the feeling of violation that the theft gives. Hopefully the thief will have an accident that only causes a little damage to the bike, but breaks every bone in his %$#@ body!

I am so frightened to leave my bike in a hotel parking lot. They know we are sleeping and we are easy prey. To unhitch a trailer and take the whole thing is incredibly ballsy but too easy. There are people who just scour hotel parking lots looking for motorcycles and GPS units, etc.

I'm really sorry this happened to you. It sucks big time. It's hard for us to own such a precious thing and to have to be worried about it all the time.

I try to sleep in strip motels when on my bike, that have doors that are wide enough to let me drive the bike right in, but it's not practical.

Why wasn't the LoJack a help? Do the police think that they disconnected it?

final update on this.

insurance company is not paying for the trailer or tools (despite having insurance), bike has not turned up even with lojack and the police have closed their case.

so everyone check their coverages before something happens!

This seems like some professionals lifted your stuff.
Good luck with it. I'm not too optimistic. You did everything right. And it was still stolen. i hate the feeling after a theft. I've had a handfull of autos stolen in the past. Sometimes there's nothing you can do.

sorry to hear about your head aches bro. I believe your trailer and tools i believe would be under a renters or home owners policy not the bike or automotive side. i could be wrong, but when i registered my trailer i did not insure it seperately under my car and bike policy, but under my personal home policy.

I became a victim on Oct. 2010 when I forgot to "arm" my SCORPIO while I went out to run a few errands. I was out for 90min and returned to a spot where my `06 M109r should have been. I feel your pain....kinda because you lost a hell of a lot more than just a bike. I'm gonna install another Scorpio on this bike and have that GPS tracking system installed when I get the $$$$$$. I'll have my squad (the ones that have Lo jack in their patrol cars) keep an eye out for any bike hits they might get. My bike was never seen again and Howard county PD clossed the case. GAP didn't cover the "entire" lost because I was UPSIDE DOWN and still owed 6 payments. GOOD LUCK!!!!

been a while since i have been bikeless, but i got a call from the VA police last week and it was recovered! trailer and all.... going to pick it up next week after they finish processing it for evidence. doesnt look like much is missing based on the inventory they told me over the phone.

lojack went off when the bike battery was reconnected. no idea on damages yet, but the police towed my trailer with their truck back to the impound lot.
