I thinking about getting the chrome windshield spikes for my black zx6r. I think these black bar end would complement them nicely

i am kinda on the fence, im just afraid it may be too much and should just get something simple looking

any opinion would greatly be appreciated.

also i just ordered a puig DB smoke wind sreen and im thinking about chrome or carbon fiber heel plates. I want to keep most of the bike black but just have a few chrome pieces to accent it and it would match the chrome stickers that came factory

My only problem with anything like that is if you just bump the tip of the thing which is always going to happen no metter what, then the thing is stuffed and looks shit. I would go for a non pointed one.

Another thing that actually scares me is what if you slip and that bar end goes into your gut or leg or even jewels while your pushing the bike around. Man thats going to make a big hole

good point that originally was my thought but a few of my friends like ema nd are gonna get them so that kinda sold me on them. before that i was still on the fence. That and it would match the windshield spikes. What is your take on the windshield spikes yes/no?

these are the other ends i was looking at

what do you think?

Now these are bar ends i would go for. They are simply but smart and very cool looking. I only think that sport bikes should have spikes if they are going for a show and are not used hard. My feel on spikes screams Harley Harley Harley and i am not a harley fan what so ever.

Its all your decision at the end of the day and if all your mates have it them become like them and get them. I would personally go with something different from all the other people and make sure it goes with who i am.

This is not a Gixxer.

Get some functional bar ends - Throttlemeister, sliders, or heavier to damp vibration. Just my $0.02.

I currently have Shogun bar-end sliders. One of these days I will probably get the all-black Throttlemeister bar-ends.

Functional Bar-ends Suggestions :)

Shogun Bar-end sliders: http://www.moto911.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_21_102&products_id=288

These are what I currently have. I got them as a set with the Shogun frame and swingarm sliders (all together referred to as the Shogun Crash Kit). I have come to the conclusion after yesterdays 330 mi ride that while these are great for the racetrack the complete lack of vibration damping (because they weigh nothing) is hard on my hands - I will definitely be switching soon.

Black on a miscellaneous sportbike:

HVMP Vibration Damping Bar-ends: http://www.hvmp.com/kawasaki.htm

These are stainless steel heavy-weight bar-ends intended solely for vibration damping. I used them on my Ninja 500. They made an ENORMOUS difference in the felt vibration through the handlebars. Definitely function over form though.

Comparison of stock Ninja 500 bar-ends to HVMP standard bar-ends:

Throttlemeister: http://www.throttlemeister.com/

This is a "cruise control" system. They provide you two bar-ends, a machined steel one for the clutch side that just sits there and then the cruise-control end for the throttle side. Basically, you twist the bar-end and it pushes against the throttle tube counteracting the throttle return spring. You can still turn the throttle to adjust your speed (it isn't a lock) but when you let go the throttle will stay in the same position (when the Throttlemeister is turned on). The "heavy" version is the same weight as the HVMP standard bar-end. And they are available in polished steel, polished/milled "grippy" combination finish, raw steel finish, and all black.

Standard, raw steel on a 10R:

those cruise control system ends sounds really kick ass. Does anyone have them or have any experience with them?

Received my black Throttlemeister kit today. Here is a comparison to the stock barends (these are the "heavy" version - they weigh 14oz per barend, I'd say about double the stock weight).
