Just bought a ZX14 and I got plates saturday. All ready to go, but I'm flying down to Atlanta to ride it up to NYC in just 2 half days. Start mid afternoon one day, then arrive in NYC at 3PM the latest hopefully. Any tips? I've never gone more than 5 hours on a bike. I did Beverly hills to Las Vegas on a Busa and that was AMAZING! These Hyperbikes are the best for sports cruising. I did NYC to Ohio, then DC, PA, NYC on Capanord and I was dreaming of the BUSA!!

Anyway, this is what I got going:

Medium Air Hawk ordering now
New Arai Signit-X
12V socket
2 2a USB battery packs
Escort MAX 360c
Insta 360
Gopro Hero 5
Smooth 4
Kaoko Throttle Lock
Revit Rain Suit
TONS of heat packs
GErbins Heated Vest
Ram mounts
Large Magnetic Tank bag
Soft sadle bags
Waze App
Custom ear molds
42 year old body which is not as excited as the matter in between my ears...

I just bought a K1100RS in Orlando. Left at noon and was back in Wilmington DE at 2am. You can do it on the 14 easily in 2 days. Have done this trip on ZX-11 also. 1 aderol makes the trip better.

Also on my ZX-11 I bought...Seattle to Wilmington Delaware 3300 miles. Just under 3 days 10 years ago.

Nice! I'm planning to leave at 4PM and get as far north as I can. Sleep in Virginia then head for NYC for 12PM. That means riding from 4PM to 9PM, then 5AM to 12PM the next day.

Just remembered, I need:

Food and water: Protein bars, some fruit, nuts, Caffeinated drink.
May get a camelback tomorow

Guys I need help with my mount for radar detector. When I get bike I''ll have 20-30 minutes to get rolling. How can I mount my radar detector in that time? Fast and secure options. Ram mounts is too slow. Talking about 7 days to ship. :(

It's only 876 miles from Hotlanta to NYC. 750 miles has been my longest ride in one day. Left Allegheny National Forest 2 hours before sunrise. arrived home at sunset. Many 600-mile days with more to come. You should have no problem making it in two days.

I was in a gas station S of Atlanta and 2 guys heading from Daytona on ZX-14s (as I was) to Decatur, Ga. They laughed when they saw the map in my tank bag. "You still navigate with a paper map?" one asked incredulously. I had already unclipped the phone and pocketed it, so I let them go on laughing. I told them I kinda knew where I was going without a map, having made the trip from here to Daytona a dozen or more times on bikes and in 4-wheel vehicles.

If you're interested in hard saddlebags and a tube bar adapter, let me know.

Last summer I rode a total of 16 hours from Deals Gap - Tail of the Dragon to Richmond VA with an overnight stay, arrived in Philadelphia the next day. Make sure to bring your rain suit and chain lube. Have a safe ride.

btw, I am 63 years young.

No I live near St. Louis, but I pass through Atlanta once or twice a year.

Check with EZ, you may need a certain number of posts to do messaging.

On that trip, I had left Daytona early in the morning and made it past Chattanooga by dark. Did 400 to home the next day.

Chain lube? Why not just Lube when I get home?

If you would like to extend the life of your chain and sprockets, you would get a small spray can of chainlube. It's up to you.

I rode to Deals Gap and back from Philadelphia, a total of 1,800 miles with a well-lubed chain without the need of any kind of chain adjustment.

Good deal. I would have to buy it down there though because can't carry on the plane.

Anyone has any ideas of a good way to mount my radar detector? I was unable to get the custom mount in time. I do have the ram mounts which is going to go into the stem but I need something to physically hold the radar detector. I'm thinking the X amount for the ram mounts I can put it in there and then wrap zip ties around the mount and the detector.

Also I was trying to make a custom ear mold for the trip. It's an amazing experience when traveling long distances and not having to listen to a lot of noise. Also custom eramos are super comfortable. However I try to make a negative impression last night but the professionally-made are Impressions that I spent $70 on got ruined because I couldn't get it out of the mold when it cured.

I have some new ideas I'm going to explore tonight
