Have a few questions
  • What sort of problems would I have putting the '94 ecu into the '91
  • What are these Black and yellow wires for on both bikes they were ripped/ cut (will post pictures)
  • What sort of things should I be worried about when swapping over forks and rear suspension
  • What should I worry about when doing an engine rebuild
  • What rain/summer tires do you run
There will probably be more questions

1. Possibly over rev the j engine if you don't swap heads or swap the L motor with it

2. Those are ground wires

3. Not sure on suspension. Should be a straight swap.

4. Cleanliness is key. Also, measure tolerances of everything. If anything is out of spec, replace it.

5. I'm currently running Michelin pilot power 3. The pp4 and pp5 are better rain tires. Newer tire with newer tech.

So I've ran into my first 2 problems swapping parts, I have a dynatek cdi on my 91 which uses a different crank trigger then the 94. Is it better to just wire up the dynatek system (4 wires) or switch the crank timer. Also the airbox takes up so much space causing the fuel lines to be pinched i tried moving around the wires and lines but its not making much of a difference

I take it you don't have the molded fuel lines?

I took these earlier its decent out but its still like 35°F. This morning I put in the '94 wiring harness, installed the brake and clutch lever, brake lines, gauges, headlights, the lines have all been bled. But my brother did something with my clutch reservoir while it was in the basement so now there are 2 brake reservoirs on

I would swap the stock 94 ignition rotor over to the 91 since you're using the 94 harness with it. Unless, you feel like tinkering with the 94 harness and want the dynatek system to remain on there.

ugh... I had the same problem on my 93 when I needed to replace the fuel lines. I got lucky several years ago and order the last 2 sets of molded fuel lines.

I don't know if this fuel line is resistant to kinking. They used to list a different product that was posted up by another forum whore who had used them. This is the closest thing on their website that I found:

I'll probably replace the fuel filter while replacing the lines is there a specific brand or version that will work better then others or would I be fine with a generic one

Last week I ordered some fiberglass to repair my front fairing but realized I forgot sandpaper, paintbrushes and gloves but luckily my mom was out food shopping and could stop at home depot. Heres what I have so far I didn't use enough resin but will fix it in the morning. I put layers of fiberglass on the top and bottom and am going on what I learned on YouTube and based on the instructions. Wish me luck

Plugged everything in and turned the key now nothing happens only the neutral light comes on the engine doesn't crank or anything no headlight or taillight. I triple checked everything was plugged in and the wires look like they're still new. Now what do I do because I'm running out of hope

Also forgot to mention the bike turns over when I put a screwdriver to the solenoid. Is the power getting lost somewhere in the wiring or could it be a ignition switch problem?
bypass clutch switch and side stand switch if you haven't already

I decided to use the dynatek system because the only wires I would have needed to cut were already cut. I felt more confident in my wiring skills so I felt it was the best path to take.

So far I've had a annoying and frustrating experience with the fiberglass. YouTube guy said to use layers now there is a big glob of fiberglass thats hard a.f to sand down, it's itchy, sticky messy and I'm gonna save the fairing repair for another day. It decided to snow so I couldn't install the new fuel line.
