Before i painted it i had repaired cracks and chips using all purpose bondo and electrical tape
The biggest chips were on the rear fairings and there was one big crack on the right body fairing, there other fairings had a few small cracks. For the right body fairing and small cracks i used bondo and sanded it down

For repairing cracks in panels, i use large cable toes and a soldiering iron. Do it from the back of the panel and plunge it thru the cable tie into the panel. There the same kind of plastic so melt well together. Then sand and give i light coat of bondo.
if your bondo keeps cracking it might be worth a try.
looks good so far, keep up the good work and keep us posted

Air take hoses just arrived and some generic fairing screws from Amazon. I will most likely paint them black because the red doesn't seem like it'll last and seems a bit to much. The black ones were sold out. Also while trying to mount the front fairing realized there's some fitment issues and I'll have to give it some persuasion but can't do much because of all the snow

If there anything like the generic aluminium bolts i bought make sure what ever your screwing them into has clean threads, ive snapped a fair few due to dirty threads. I run a tap thru them now to clean the threads.
there ok for holding infill panels etc but i wouldnt trust them with anything thats likely to have any force applied to it

After messing with the fairings they almost all fit together, there's still like an inch of space between them but I believe it was because one of the side fairing mounts seem to be bent and the other is missing entirely. I also tried to put on the intake hoses but they do seem to be fitting i assume its user error on my part.

Today I finally bled the lines. Tried to start the bike using some starter fluid heard a loud band and kinda panicked thinking I broke something. So i walked away for 15 minutes came back to check the spark plug and the ignition coil ripped and the plastic pieces crumbled in my hand. Not only that i also managed to get my spark plug socket stuck in the hole.

Was gonna give up on the ZX7 and get a ZX6R but ended up finding a '94 ZX7 that only needed a engine which i had in my '91 ZX7. So I did the sensible thing and starting moving the '94 parts to the "91. I wanted to use the '94 frame because I perferred the brushed finish and most of the parts seem to be in better condition then mine but because the '94 has some customers fabrication toward the rear to fit a race style tail which completely removes the passenger seat, the bike also seems to have slid on its side based on the condition of the foot pegs and fairings. So far I've removed most of the parts from the '94 that I'm moving to the '91
  • Wiring harness
  • brake lever & clutch lever
  • Brake lines
  • Guage
  • Junction box
  • Rear shock
  • Forks
  • Rims
I've moved most of them have to the '91
Might rebuild the '94 with my '91 parts because they are in decent condition and my friend wants to get a motorcycle but I wanna finish the '91 before I get any other ideas.
