yeah, i'll post some pics soon. i work real long hours and the photos on my phone don't do it justice. there is 1 catch. there's no key. i priced a lock set at $280.00, but I'm looking for a locksmith that will come and feel it out and make me a key. i actually got it for $2000.00 because of the missing key. he wanted it to sell it so he could buy some furniture.(haha) love makes people do crazy things. looking forward getting balls deep in the forum, doing some mods and riding. former owner of a '96 CBR F3 and 2000 F4i. (both totaled by someone else). if anyone knows anything about replacing a missing key , tell me about it.

There is no key?
Did you hear it run?
Did you ride it?

I hope you did.

na, never rode it. i bought it from a buddy at work, he rode it to work a few times to work this past summer, i seen it then. he thinks the keys are under the seat. there are few minor scratches. but other than that it's mechanically sound. it's current condition is "stored for winter". I've been trying to buy it since July. I'll keep you guys updated.

No need to get a new ignition. Find a good local key guy and talk to him. I had to bring in the gas tank when I lost my key, so he didn't need the ignition.

There were other companies that said at least 150 for the key because it would have to be cut, but I paid 25 bucks for 2 keys.

Ask around and you will be able to find a good locksmith man.

that's good stuff right there. I called a few locksmiths today and found one that said he could do it.
Could i just pull off the tank fuel door and take that the LS? That's really good news that its possible rather than replace the whole lock set.
gonna pursue this issue on Monday, off work and wanna get it running.

Okay, today was my first day off so i had a few hours to spend with the ol' gal.

Pickin her up.

Here she is with my other ride.

it's bone stock!

Getting the key code for the missing key issue. Found a local locksmith thats making me 2 for $15

wTF is this? was trying to get under the seat pad to see if the keys were in there.. thought this was for the lock. took it all apart and could still on get in.

Basically, I paid $2000 for the bike, took $500 off because of the missing key. It has a clean title, 2041 miles on the odometer. Few scratches and has a dent in the tail plastic. Hopefully have the key within the next few days, and getting the stuff for a tune up. I think there might be an issue with a front brake lever, no resistance at all in the lever. hopefully get that figured out tomorrow.

What you you guys think?
