Does your significant other complain about the position of the passenger pegs? My wife felt claustrophobic up tight against the bags and she felt the pegs were too high..SO... Off to my brother-in-laws with some lumps of T-6 aluminum. He has a full machine shop in his garage. We whacked these out on his bridgeport...

They utilize all the stock hardware and fasteners. The still fold up at the stock location and click in place like the stock pegs do. However the peg is bolted in place in the extender for rigidity and does stick out a bit in the folded up position.

Hopefully this will make her happy. We are leaving Saturday for a 2 week vacation all over New England and Nova Scotia. I'll have a ride report for the long haul when we get back.

I'm leaving with 1200 mi on the ticker, Have synthetics in the motor and rear now, she's ready to stretch her legs for a long run... :mfclap

EDIT 8/21/2007......

I found out this morning that the pegs i had used were from a 2001 Honda Shadow 750 Deluxe. They are the Riders pegs..not the passengers as I had originally thought. I got to see the microfische blowup of the bike at the local honda dealer.. thats why the pegs are flat, even that bikes passenger pegs are round rubber.

The not so great news is they are not sold as a one piece item, rather you have to buy all the pieces and put them together. As you probably know buying stuff at the dealers in pieces is somewhat costly. It works out to... my cost(i dont plan on making money out of this) for the pegs is $46 bucks a piece or $92 dollars a set to get them at the dealer in new condition. I checked their box of pegs and there was really nothing else in there that would work well on the Concours.

SO... if thats the way you want to go I'd be glad to order them for you. They said it would take 5 days to a week for the pegs to ship in.

Like I said before.. I dont know if this is a better way to go or not... I guess if the money is not a problem the new pegs would look best on a new bike.. If you can source your own set of pegs it could be less expensive for you... your call..

I'll send this basic email to the others interested and see what they wish to do as well..

Sorry about the confusion,

Jerry

Wish us luck...

See you on the road,

Jerry and Leisa

I make a set of passenger peg extenders with fold up pegs. I designed them for the ZRX but I think they will work on the concours. If anyone wants to take a look at them my websight is www.vixfix.com My local dealer has a couple of 14' s in the crate. When he puts one on the floor I will see if these fit. The rear peg bracket looks just like the ZRX bracket. I used these on my ZRX and I modified a set of them for my FJR. They drop the rear pegs about 4 " which makes a world of difference for your passenger.

Jerry, What made you decide on the peg extension set at 1.75". Was it a guesswork or scientifically deduced? Is this the maximum extension so that boots don't touch the standard exhaust.?

Chris,
The exhaust and also depending on the peg used I felt that was the maximum extention to keep the pillions boots away from the heel of the rider... up to size 12US mens size. Boot sizes above that have not been tested. Also, if the rider comes back on the balls of his feet, and the pillion is on the heel.. they may touch with those sizes as well. However the pillions peg stance is now slightly wider.

Anything less than 1.75 in. didn't seem worth the effort either.. :)

Hope that helps you.. I know I'm totally confused now.. :)

Have a set of these for sale - used once. Tried them on my ZX12, but didn't work very well. PM me for the discounted price.

Rear Step

According to the article of a certain GTR's rider, it is said that “STEP, RR” of 1000GTR can be installed in 1400GTR.

The step of 1000GTR seems to be more comfortable than that of 1400GTR. :smile
