My gsxr had the same exhaust valve our bikes have which the gixxer guys also eliminated. However, we or they disabled the valve and took the electric motor out. There was a pin that we would pull from the ecu to prevent a f1 light. I think it was a brown wire like 18 from the left on top, some shit like that. Anyways does anyone know what wire sends the signal to the ecu for the servo motor so I can pull it to avoid the f1 light.

Thanks

As far as I know you can't simply pull a wire to eliminate a servo code from lighting the "fi" light.

just take the cables off the servo and off the valve. The valve without the cables defaults to fully open.

Leave the servo plugged in so the ecu can detect the proper ohms (resistance) and not set an fi code. The ecu only knows the servo is connected. It has no provisions to tell what position the exhaust valve actually is in.

You can buy a small resistor made to eliminate the servo if you want to spend good money on it. I just left my servo in place without cables.

so you can just disconnect the cables with no problem??:headscratch

disconnect cables ok

It is fine to disconnect the cables. The servo or ecu has no way to detect the cables are absent. Remove the rear passenger seat, rider's seat and top tail section.

You will see the servo on the left side of the bike. There is a clip holding the cable housings in place. Pop the clip out and unhook the cables.

You will notice the exhaust gets a little louder (purpose of the valve).

No lights will come on or codes if you leave the servo in place plugged in to the ecu harness.:crazyloco

it's not as simple as just putting in a resister. the ecu does sense how much voltage is being drawn from the servo. If it is out of spec, it will throw a code. some bikes throw a code if the cables are not connected, some don't. If it does, disconnect the battery for at least 10 minutes and go ride to reset the ecu. Disconnecting the pin at the ecu eliminates the FI light all together. doesn't mean that the ecu won't throw a code. you just won't be able to see the light.I don't recommend doing it.

by the way, this is not a pair mod. the pair mod is when you remove the pair valve in the emmisions system on the top of the valve cover and install block off plates or plug the hoses that lead to the T fitting for the air box and charcoal cannister. If you're going to do this, remove the rest of the emissions and jump the wire for the pair valve
