Soon to be ZX-6R rider here looking to get some opinions about this bike being used as a daily commuter/weekend twisties here and there. I am currently on a 250r ninja and have been for the past year and looking to upgrade to either the Zx-6r or the new ninja 650. Just looking to see if anyone uses their zx for commuting primarily and how the comfort is with it. I am 5'8'' so not sure how that will effect it but I am going to the dealer to sit on each of the bikes to see how they feel or if I am too short for the ZX:eek:hno. I have a 25 mile commute each way with both highway and city driving and just hoping that this bike wont be too uncomfortable for the daily commute since it is such a gorgeous bike.

Thanks for any and all opinions or advice.

I found the 6R more comfortable than my 7... and I ride a 7 daily. As in 50 miles per day average.

I'm on a 06 636 as my daily driver...but I've owned both of the other bikes you listed as well (650r, 250r). Of all three the 650r was the most comfortable to ride...(besides the suspension....looks great...works like ass). whichever you decide...you'll get used to it in a week or two.

I comfortable ride my 07 zx6r from work and back and college and back without problems.

Personally, I hated my 650r. I wasn't impressed with it's performance like I was told that I would be, the tranny wasn't willing to be smooth no matter how I shifted ( maybe it was just my bike, but I know it's not me haha )The " Is that a 250? " got really old really soon. But, when you told them it's a 650, the reaction wasn't any better lol.

The 650 is more upright than the 6r is. Depends on your preference. The 650 will honestly be better and more comfy to commute with. However the zx6r will be TONS more fun in the twisties on the weekend. IMO te 650 sits pretty close to how the 250 sits. The zx6r will be more aggressive of a stance and whatnot. Im 5'6" and I ride a 06 636 daily to work which is 20 miles since I live in the boonies. After work I take longer routes home and usually spend an hour riding just for fun :). It all depends on how you like the feel. Little more strength in ur abs after commuting with a zx6r thou is a plus! Hehe

just get a ZX-6r you won't regret it, it's nice fast and very comfortable, i ride mine every day of summer that we have here in northwest, and it's very nice and comfy, if not you will get used to it in like a few days of riding. TOTALLY WORTH IT.

lets just leave it at..

supersport class bikes were never designed to be a commuter bike.. can you commute with it? of course you can, will it be comfortable? after a few days or weeks yes.

just think of like a new pair of shoes, the more you wear it the more your feet gets used to it and nobody can tell you how comfortable it will be better than your own feet.
i mean you can ask opinions, but what if your asking a guy with 6 toes? and he says its uncomfortable, and you ask another opinion but this ones got a prostetic legs and says it seems comfortable.. sometimes you guys have to go try it out yourself.

I always think its funny when theres a thread asking about how we like zx6's or would we recommend them. Well obviously we would since we ourselves ride it, shit my zx6 will drive you to the moon if you ask her nicely.
25 mile commute or weekend twisties? thats exactly what this bike is for.
