At an idle or while I'm coasting the oil light comes on solid and the fuel lights flash. As soon as the rpms go up they all turn off. I'm thinking it's a bad ground. I have checked the connections in the instrument cluster, the oil pressure sensor, and the connection on the fuel level sensor. The fuel lights work fine when I do get low on fuel. Any advise?

Check the engine ground, and the battery cables. Also check the out voltage from the stator with a volt meter on the battery. Should read 12-14 and 14.?? at around 2500

+1 if it was just the oil light you may have an output pressure problem, but if you have a wiring diagram id look into the wiring on both of those sensors. i am kind of surprised that your 1990 has a low fuel light... i mean my 84 honda has an actual level guage but my 98 zx7r has nothing other than a reserve tank when i start to run out of fuel...
