Hello
my 2009 NINJA 250R

has an exhaust and air filter slot in pods
i have been told they are usless without
Power Commander
And i was thinking of changing to a smaller sprocket
(if i do will i have the get a bigger rear sprocket??)

With all these mods what will i get 0-60
if a standard ninja 250 does 7.5 seconds

as all im intrested in is 0-60
as i dont want a bigger bike im happy with this, just want to improve acceleration =) Thankyou

Welcome to the forums! Pics? If you want more acceleration, get a bigger rear sprocket

The 250R's stock gearing is 14/45. Replace the rear with a 50 and you'll notice quite a large difference. You'll add about 1k RPM to any given speed, though, which makes highway speeds very uncomfortable with vibrations / noise.

Try launching at 4-5k RPM and shifting between 8.5-10K RPM. Standard mapping sees peak torque at 9.5-10K.

Pod filters aren't really worth the hassle on a sportbike, and with a custom map + PC you'll see an increase of maybe 1.5-2HP. The bike comes on the lean side from the factory.

The little Ninjas are already lightweight and compact. You'll be throwing a lot of money at it before you notice any difference on the street.

Thankyou guys, so i will still get exhaust and power commander
as i already brought it
but with the front sprocket leave it at 14T and get a rear sprocket at 50T?
sound a bit high
as i will only be using for street and little carriageways i'm not bothered about top end
but how much will it knock off 10mph ??

Sprocket gearing change, power commander, aftermarket exhaust will provide you with benefits. I would also look into lightening the bike as well
