New to ZX14 world. Weird question.

Looking for input here. I bought a 2017 zx14 with 695 yes real miles from a dealer. The bike was in a collectors garage filled with 30 bikes. He never rode it much. Sold it to the dealer this year because he's thinning his heard a bit. Story verified by me.

So the Bike has 695 miles on it with a Two Brothers slip on exhaust and a power commander 5. The PC does have the correct tune from Dynojet and is updated with the most current map and software.

What Im experiencing might be normal but I want to know. So the bike starts up perfectly and fast. idles nicely at 1500 rpm then after a few minutes settles at 1100 rpm. Perfect again.

Now when I start riding things are smooth as butter for the first few minutes. After that the bikes throttle feels like an on off switch and it sound like is missing when rolling the throttle on and off or at say 10% throttle. But get on it and she's a rocket ship that pulls and pulls. It's only when Im cruising this other stuff happens. When Idling after hot she does sound like it's missing a bit but idle is still 1100 rpm.

Now here's the strange thing. If I stop riding for a bit, say 15 minutes, then resume my ride it will be buttery smooth again for a few minutes. Then after that the snatchy throttle on/off feeling comes back and the low rpm missing sound returns.

Is this normal for these bikes?

This is NOT normal. How many miles have you added since you bought the bike?
Was there fuel inn the tank when you bought it? My vote is for bad fuel or possibly some water in the bottom of the tank.

Spring here in Minnesota so not many so far maybe 1.5 tanks. 250 miles.

Full tank dealer serviced. But the bike did sit for a long time so maybe fuel filter? Thinking I may want to run some techron through it. But maybe a new fuel filter. Inexpensive I see but a royal pain to change.

I vote for fresh fuel and a fuel filter replacement

Fresh fuel on this tank. Mpg improved a lot. So I may wait on the ff replacement. Also Dynojet sent me a updated map for my power commander. We will see if that helps.

No what did eventually help was deleting the 02 sensor. It's not perfect but it's much better.
