I just bought this ZX6 the other day, it's bone stock 8000 miles, I took the seat off and found this jumper, someone must know what it's for.

Maybe it’s the exhaust servo bypass?
Japanese bikes did not have exhaust noise snuffers (servo-controlled butterfly valves in the exhaust pipe(s)) in '07. They may have 'em on newer models. They are a European invention designed to help the machine pass the Euro noise test. Usually takes a dongle with a resistor to keep the ECU from throwing a code when they're removed.

The one on my KTM fried in slow tratfic on a hot day. I was only too happy to shitcan the servo and it's cables in favor of the dongle. When I do the de-cat, the butterfly will be gone, too. They are spring loaded to be open unless the servo pulls them partially closed at 5K rpm where the Euros take their sound-test readings.

I had one on my CBR 1000RR. I had no idea what that thing was for.

Thanks for the knowledge.

Still no idea as to what the jumper is for. I know it's not the map mod because the jumper is in the wrong place so WTF is it.
