Well I was out riding today and my new ZX6 blew the hell up. It only has 948 miles on it. It has had it's 600 mile service, plus I followed ALL the break in procedures from the manual. I was just out riding on a back road only doing 60mph and I heard this loud arse clicking/ticking (more like baseballl card in bike spoke) sound. It didn't sound metal so I thought at first maybe something got kicked up into the fan. I pulled over and shut her off. Looked around and nothing. I started it back up and sounded fine at first, went to pull away and it got real bad then before I could even stop the bike shut off and I drifted to a stop. So pretty much I got bitten by the 07 bug and my engine blew itself up. I've been reading a lot of the threads from the search I did on dead engines or ticking sounds. Man if I would have known this before hand I would have thought different on an 07. So off to the stealership tomorrow to get the run around from them and Kawi. Maryland has a pretty harse lemon law so I'm almost positive MD will go after them and deal with it. In the meantime I have no "new" bike to ride and will prob miss most of the season dealing with all the BS that will come with this. I know it's been drug through the mud on here but please share your similar problems and how it went getting it solved. Thanks ahead everyone.

any suggestions on how to prevent this to happen on other bikes. other than regular maintenace like oil changes and visual inspections and such. i mean like you guys said it sounds like the bike droped a valve. when i took my bike in for the valve cover gasket recall i asked them to check the valve clearance, and they told me that it didnt need it untill it had 15k on it. and if in fact it is a valve issue. i dont think ill be able to ride 15k the bike "needs the valve adjustment". i also have an 07. now im kinda nervous too.
