So i'm definitely getting my 10 in the next week or so, My home equity loan got approved. So my question is... If the MSRP on the bike is $11,249, would it be out of the question to try to get an out-the-door cost of $10,000-$10,500 which includes taxes, surcharges and the transfer of my registration from my old bike? I'm just trying to get my options in order and I have 3 shops in the local area to choose from so I will try all three.

Thanks guys

Just don't give in to the first offer made by the sales guy. If you have 3 shops in the area, use that to your advantage. One of them is going to want your business more than the others. :mfclap

hey i work at a dealer as a sales man. first off i want to say that the mark up on motorcycles isn't what most people think. here is an example. i work at a yamaha dealer. our cost on a 07 r1 is 9801, and msrp is 11599. Deff look around and see what dealer can do the best, cause some dealers are more concearned with the amount of volume they get out as opposed to how much they can make off of a single unit, hope this helps! gluck

I bought an 06 on dec-23-06
Dealer invoice was $9799.00
He got .5% kawi rebate ($450) making it $9349
Plus kawi gave him .5% dealer hold back another ($450)
Dealer invoice $9799.00 - $900.00 = $8899.00
Add freight and set-up $300.00 = $9199.00
Add dock fee's like $45.00 = $9244.00
Settle on his profit margin I gave him $500.00
Plus your sales tax, I got mine for $10,400.00 OTD
Indy sales tax .6% $9800.00 + $600 = $10,400.00
Your sales tax and mileage may vary! Good Luck!
Sticker price was the typical $11,299.00 also.

Jay, roll in w/cash or check in hand and be ready to walk if you need to just don't be jerky about it, try to play the dealers to your advantage, you can always go back but you won't be able to return your bike.
