In the North, not as many bugs and insects to fly into as the southern half.
But still enough to smell the dead after they have sacrificed themselves.
Typically after every ride or two.
Put a few large towels through the rinse cycle, lay one flat on the floor and lay the gear on top, then the other towel on top.
Let sit for a few hours then massage the towel into the leather, this will absorb most of the dead.
Then condition with fav leather product. If done frequently, the gear doesn't get to ripe smelling.
