Hiya people! Sorry its going to be a long post!.... This has been going on a few months now, when my bike gets to 8k revs it judders, and misfires it does it in all gears. After doing the suggested off another forum I'm still left with the same problem!

I have changed the plugs, ignition coils. Drained the tank and put fresh fuel in. Checked the air and ram air intakes. The big white block connector under the tank is fine. Is there anything else I can check myself before putting into a shop to be looked at?

I did fix the problem a few times but I don't know how lol! And sometimes it fixes itself but most the time it won't let me past 8k

Cheers

It may be this or it may be that

The symptoms you describe could be from any number of things. Can you give us more historical information about the bike in question? Like, how many miles on it? What year ZX-9R? When was the last time the valves were adjusted/compression checked? Are you the original owner? Has it been placed in storage for two years without running or used as a daily commuter? Was it modified in any way? And if so, what was done? What did you try from the other forum that didn't work?

One thing for certain though, 4-stroke basics. Is it ignition, compression, or fuel related? Only way to tell is by eliminating what it is not, then you'll know what it is.

i experienced virtually the same thing when my slides werent seated properly. Like e1 said, history will help: when did the problem start? has it always done it since you've had it? have the carbs been apart?

It's a 99 model, the c2. 37k on the clock, iv had it a year now and it didn't do this when I 1st had it. No idea when valves were done and iv not took the carbs apart because I wouldn't know where to Start lol... It's used as a commuter daily. Off the other forum they suggested coils plugs and ram air.... They all fine though

I'm guessing either the slide diaphragms or the main jets are partially clogged. Sounds like you need to find a shop to clean the carbs. Or just get a manual and try it. It's not hrd to do.

Since this just started without you having the carbs apart I wouldnt suspect slide diagrams but rather start with cleaning the carbs. I'm a fan of taking the bowls (bottom) and slide caps (top)off and soaking the metal parts in cleaner vs seafoam in the gas. Have you been keeping up with the mileage maintenance since you're at 37k?
