I ran my bike all last year at the track stock just lowerd and 6in arm. I went 6.20s 1/8 mile. Now I want to go faster. What do I need to do to run some 5.80s or better. Got my tax refund back now I have a lot of extra money and I want to put it all in my bike.:crazyloco

For about $2k, you can get a CompetitionCNC SS head, double valve springs, stainless valves. On MR12, makes about 210 HP. May be just what you need to get 5.80s. I have one but I'm gonna spray it with a 50 shot. I should see 5.60s.

I'm going racing on mine this year.Never raced a really fast bike.I want to break 10 seconds in the 1/4 to start with.I'm 245 lbs with stock wheelbase.The best time I ever got was [email protected] on a 03 Z1000.That thing was a wheelie machine.Plus I didn't know what I was doing.Always leaving the line over 5 grand.I was told on the Bikeland site to leave at 3500 to start with and work from there.Plus they suggest a 17/40 sprocket combo to keep it on the ground.I have 16/43 combo so I'll try leaving easy.Can't wait to get my feet wet.See how it works then if I wheelie I'll go back to 17/41.

Easy I took my 08 bone stock and let out the clutch then hit the gas and never got over a 10 second quarter mile and I weigh 210 lbs . Even though you out weigh me it is a very achievable goal . On my first night of running the zx quarter mile I hit second a little hard and lofted the front end and got it back down @ about 110 mph :scared.

Iron;
I see what you mean about hitting second too hard.I got to go out the other day when the weather was nice.Not too many days like that on the east coast.I went from first into second kinda hard.Guess I was sitting on the middle of the seat not paying attention and right at 7 grand the front end just jumped real hard.Got my attention.I think if I do dragrace I got to get rid of that 43 tooth sprocket and go back to the 41.Yikes.Got to ride closer to the tank.
