Trying to get in a last few rides and it hurt so good having fun.
Need a complete shoulder replacement next month and will be out of service for a few months
All these years I've been fixing things and putting in new parts
Now it's my turn to get fixed up with new parts

Similar situation. Broken left foot and ZX14. Good thing I also have an Harley with a toe heel shifter. In fact everything including the truck is manual shift. Broken foot was not in the plan. I've ridden with knee surgery, Covid x3, and a smashed face-shield from an hail storm. never bought an auto. Snow belt person and you cannot beat a clutch in snow. Nice bike. Waiting for the ZX-18! Go big or go home!!!

Thank you
I couldn't handle the narcotics and just ibuprofen and tylenol for now
Really no pain until I go to to PT
The boredom from sitting around is killing me

You won't bounce like you used to, but you'll still bounce. It just takes longer.

Doing things with a non-dominant hand can be challenging.
When u get taken out by a cager and u dont have money, they still save u n do all the necessary things. But its not necessarily top 1% style. My death was 5 years ago this month. I totaled her car w my face, dented the A-pillar of her SUV and shattered my jaw in the process. Among other problems. They actually told me a helmet would have snapped my neck... The last bill i saw was $307,000 and that was before my last 2 surgeries. Not including any of the dental work and dentures. Every bit of the hospital bill was my responsibility, and her insurance paid me very little. So now im 37 and i have dentures. They suck. Not enough bone and too much metal in my face for implants. I do free have Medicaid now for the rest of my life, but thats small comfort for the brain damage ive got and the knee(s) im gonna need before im 50. Got a really cool xray at the dentist tho, shows my fractured eye sockets and septum and the plates and screws.

Best of luck w the recovery, take ur time, do what they tell u, then u can blame them when it doesnt work. And id say its good the narcs dont work for u. Thats a whole other plane wreck waiting to happen if u get hooked on that sh*t. Ibuprofen is a godsend 😂

Frustrating part is not being able to do some simple things.
Good part is everything went well. No pain like some people said there would be
Just a healing process now
And I can still drink beer with my left hand

What caused you to need the surgery? I know it can't just be old age.
Been a grunt all my life. Wore it out till bone on bone.
They see it a lot in athletes, weight lifters ,construction workers.
There wasn't anything they could repair. Not sure if you can see it in xray but theres a pad they screwed and glued opposite the ball.
Some things i could still do but when my arm was a certain way i couldn't change a light bulb

I built custom printing presses pasters and rollers that were the size of a truck and traveled the country repairing them by myself
Worked for a major resort with a van fleet and heavy equipment and did it all in house.
Then after 22 years i quit and thought i would go the EZ life
Jobs sucked so i started flipping homes. I was too cheap to hire anyone
Then my neighbor saw what i was doing and he built custom homes.
Try carrying solid wood doors up 2 flights of stairs
Now i'm a caretaker for those multi million dollar homes and i could make an 18 year old cry for the work i do
I like to work

I'll see your solid wood doors and raise you some lead-lined X-ray room drywall.

I wondered to my hand surgeon why the left was worn out first since my right is dom. He said, "Your left hand is your vice, so while it's clamped onto a board, your other hand gets a slight break between saw strokes. Although hand saws are rarely ever used anymore, I understood. I consider myself lucky since I know many of my peers have shoulder, knee, disc and hip replacements along with bad arthritis, which I have in the lower. back.

I think the biggest reason many young folks want nothing to do with hard physical work is what they see their parents and grandparents suffering as a direct result thereof.
They'd have to look away from their phones to notice any of that.

You can make money on you tube videos or doing stupid stunts and women can make more money showing their booty than working as a school teacher

You're noticing a symptom while ignoring the disease.

This is the real problem and it's been stewing since the 1980's; too many people making too much money and producing next to nothing tangible in return. Young folks see this clearly and it takes away their motivation. Not only the Youtubers and Onlyfans girls but money manipulators, paper-pushers and the politically-connected and trust fund babies. They see no future in actual, physical hard work because the people doing it are only enriching the aforementioned free-riders. And then trying to live with the infirmities that hard work foisted upon them.

The why may be more important than the what, but in that particular response it wasn't more relevant. Fact is they don't notice unless they're looking, and they're looking elsewhere. Who's fault that is is a philosophical debate that strays a very long way from what's going on in Steve's shoulder...
