Hey guys, sorry I'm posting a lot here but it's all for the same job.

I cant figure out where my float screws are on my 2002 ZX9r. I've turned the fuel off and want to drain the bowls (I think I have bad gas not allowing the bike to start).

Can anybody explain or show photos of where the float screws are? Thanks!

You're going to kick yourself, b/c it's almost intuitive.

You'll need an 18" - 24" length hose, like automotive vacuum hose, one that's small enough to fit over the drain nipple (the lowest part of the float bowl), a small Allen tool for each carb's fuel release screw, and a gas can to catch the drained fuel.

Attach the hose to the carb to be drained and turn the Allen screw valve to release the fuel. Be gentle when tightening the valve screw. Snug is good enough.

I know this isn't the perfect picture. But you can see #1's nipple facing down next to the vacuum hose.

Yeah I'm kicking myself, while I was waiting for replies on here I went and tinkered and eventually found it. Here are some photos in case anyone else finds this thread and wants to know where the bowls are on a 2002 ZX9r.

Pic one, took off seats, fuel tank, and took apart air box:

Pic two, close up of the bowl drips into my plastic cup:

Gotta love streetside motorcycle repair in Puerto Rico!
