I looked at a HID conversion for my 500 but was put off by the price.
The following website gives useful info on HID Xenon.
http://www.hids4u.co.uk/products.asp?cat=13
Looks a straightforward installation & they list setups for bikes so it must be something that is readily available & do-able
Do a web search to see what is available in your country

As I was doing a fair bit of night riding I replaced the standard halogen bulb with ordinary xenon and got a worthwhile improvement, it was noticeably brighter for not much cost.

I was and still interesed in the same idea. I just upgraded to PIAA bulbs and they made a huge differnece. 55w bulbs produce 110w of light. You might consider going PIAA, its worth the $80 they cost.http://http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-H7.html There a lot of info on HID conversions on www.kawiforums.com Theres several people who have had great success with them. However I found lots of info warning that retro fit kits might blind on commers. I dont know if thats true on the ZX6R because the low beam bulb has hood to prevent blinding light. Might want to check out http://http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/Hid/conversions/conversions.html
