I plan on upgrading my lighting as soon as the extra funds come available. Would it make since to have the 8000k 35w for the low beam and the 6000k 55w for the hi beam? I want some blue in the lights but not so much that I lose visibility. Or would I be better off getting the 55w 6000k? Second question...halo's are just for looks right?

i went with 8k 35w i wish i had ran 55w, but the 35 is way plenty. they say you have to be careful with 55w as they get hot and could burn the housing in small units like motorcycle, etc. halos are just for looks, but very cool looks and you wanna turn heads with your bike, halos are the way to go for sure, check out mine. ive been running them for years now and keep in mind these are halo and led pics only headlamps are not on.

If you have projector lens then 8k at 35w is super plenty and you will prob get flashed at even with 35w. 8k gives you nice blue tint but still pretty white on the road.

This is before I did a projector retrofit on my zx6r but it's 35w 8000k color temp and it's like a construction site in front of my bike it's so bright. Tried a 55w and it's so bright that it distorts the road for me at least and blinds u when ur following cars. 35w is just right to be very bright. I live out in the country on a 2 lane highway and ride at night on the way home all te time to give you an idea.

I have 35W HIDs in my bike and they suck. They are bright enough but the light pattern is terrible without projectors. I certainly wouldn't call the light output amazing though.

o yeah fellaz you do have to take them apart. i have done two different sets. my buddy's red one's look really good, but i can't find the pics i taken during the install. but yeah you just bake them in the oven @ 350 for a few mins. i keep a close eye on them and normally bake for a couple mins attempt to pull apart etc.... the thing is you have to be really careful with the silicone the hardest and most time consuming thing is when i got silicone on one of my headlamps what a pain in the ass to get off. by headlamp i mean the inside projector. but on my second set it was gravy. is the 369? include the halo prices? shit i would do that all day long for 150 with the headlamp already being removed from the bike. it only takes about 1 hr max once you have the headlamp out to install halos only. i think i only charged my buddy for his whole install of leds and halos to take his bike completely apart was like 150 i like doing it for fun. i have done 6 bike led kits its fun to see the results ya know.

Nice setup, I wouldnt get these tho, if and when I buy new I will go with the new multi color halos. They can strobe and flash and change colors and all come with a remote. Parts I think are around 140 or so. The company is sportbikelites.com or sportbikelights. I can remember just like LEDs I don't recommend going with one color when you can get multi color. Don't get me wrong their pricing aint bad it's just the new ones are tighter.

I've used the 8000K and 6000K w/35w ballasts.
Next time I'm going with 5000K and 55W ballasts.
well, maybe.

The '12 Panigale S and Tricolor use full LED positioning and lighting solutions.
This is what the high-end Audis have been using lately. It's expensive now, but there will be bike kits available if they aren't already. this is is the kind of lighting system I want. i'd pay $500.00 for really really good lights.

The brightest colour temp (highest lumens) HID's are in the 4000-5000k range. Higher than that and you start to get a colout tint at the expense on actual lighting power. Can't see why anyone would want a colour tint personally. Surely the hole point of 'upgrading' the lights is to get more LIGHT!!

Halos were not hard to install. it is a lil time consuming as you have to take the headlamp bucket off. but once you have them out you can install within a hour or so. also once you have done this once or twice it is very ez to do.

in the intake i have a 5 led strip that is part of my led lighting kit. i have also had a lil as 3 in there and it is plenty brite. you could setup a led only and wire it into your parking lights.
