Hey All, I am new to the site and to riding. I bought a 99 Kawi ZX7r in the fall and i'm trying to clean it up for next summer. After i bought it i found a slow oil leak that seems to run down the kitstand and have found where its originating from.

Has anyone else had this problem, Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Thanks,
MM

Welcome to the forum!

Clutch Pushrod Seal. Very Common problem on our bikes, especially when the weather turns cold. Easy fix, takes about 30 minutes.

Put bike in neutral, Remove sprocket cover, remove bolts holding in clutch slave, take out pushrod, replace rubber seal (looks like a black Life-Saver candy). Make sure you clean around the housing before replacing.

Part# 92049A on Bike Bandit approx $6.00

Most likely the clutch push rod seal or maybe the gear change rod seal or the transmission output shaft seal or what ever they are called. Just replace them all and don't worry about it. Also check the wear on the push rod its aluminum, flip it around if it is worn.

Just out of curiosity is it aluminum on all years? The pushrod on my 2003 seems pretty heavy.
