So basically I have a 94 zx7 and it has really been kicking my ass... It's been running great.. Then it sat for a month or so then wouldn't start.. Would crank over but not start.. At first it would start but run really rough and bogg out.. Then it just wouldn't start period... So when the batt got low some how I fried the starter seliond.. When I jumped it , it would try and start.. So today I change it and now I notice no power is getting to my bike.. If i try and jump the seliond it tries to start when when I turn the key noting.. My cooling fan which is wired on a switch isn't getting power either, when I test the batt it is good and full, the connections are solid on the batt too.. I checked the fuses on the junction box and those are good.. Can locate any other fuse box.. I'm stomped.. Almost gonna part it out.. But I really like it.. What are your thoughts?

How long are you letting it idle on the choke before trying to rev it?

I have to be easy on the throttle for the first 20-30 seconds cold start (and cold start for me is in the 30s)

FWIW here is my start sequence for temps below 50:

Full choke. Start engine. Once engine catches (about 1-2 seconds I suppose) immediately move choke to about 2/3. Engine RPM will gradually rise so I drop the choke to 1/2. RPM gradually comes back up so I set choke to about 1/3. This all within 30 seconds or so. I haven't timed it, but it goes by quick.

Then I ride off. About 2nd or 3rd gear I turn the choke off.

If I try to blip the throttle when the choke is set to between full and 1/2 the engine will die.

It's the super crappy gasoline of today. Try a whole can of Berrymans carb cleaner in the tank, go for a ride. I bet it cleans up.

I've had my ZRX carbs gum up in a week. You have to shut fuel off to the carbs, then run it until it dies. this might keep the gunk from plugging things up.

or use race fuel.
