I'm not sure if this is the right section for this but I have a 09 zx6r and recently picked up a Attack Kawasaki Kit ECU. The more I read up the more questions I have. I know this is probably better suited for WERA forum but I thought I would try here as well. So here they are:

1) If I have a used Kit ECU and it comes with other maps how do I switch to the default map and how do I switch to the other maps on the unit? Can this only be done with the PC cord

2) If i am using a PCV and Autotune how do I use this to change my a/f ratio without using the PC cord

3) Can I tune the same with PCV and Autotune or do I need the PC cord to adjust ignition timing, idle speed, engine braking and the other things not controlled by PCV or does it allow you to adjust
everything? I doubt it but I wanted to ask .

4) Is there a benefit to tune with the cord over the PCV, I hear of many people tuning their Kit ECU with a piggyback unit?

5) Do you need a pc for all of this or can I use a mac? I have a mac and can't even download the PCV info?

6) I have a friend with an 05-06 Kit ECU pc cord will it work with the 09 Kit ECU?

7) Is there a difference between a Kawasaki Kit ECU and an Attack Kawasaki Kit ECU? I only ask because I was told I don't need the OEM harness adapter for the Attack Kawasaki Unit

8) I'm running modified stock headers (MJS Performance-gutted cat etc) , Are there any drawbacks to this setup? I know it is not optimal like a full system but are there any precautions, tips or
otherwise I should take into account?

Any help in finding these answers would be greatly appreciated, I'm not a electronics specialist of any sort so please excuse any stupid questions.

Thanks!

Those Kawi kit ECUs with the harness and interface cable are expensive for most of us. The other reason they aren't popular is for the exact reason you are posting here. No one knows how to tune them. Just start googling and reading forum threads. Try kawiforums. I have never heard of anyone using a MAC for this function. i wonder of the software will even load on a mac. OK, maybe a mac running windows.

i was looking ar a race ecu a few years back. I finally decided it was just going to be too expensive and trial and error to proceed. I just settled for a PC and a tune. i don't know, but you may lose some of your street riding functions when using the race ECU. It's been awhile. I forgot. Sorry.
