I am taking the paint off and will start sanding , polishing it . Then the frame and hang ons . Does anyone have any advice on doing the polishing .I have a big buffer stand up model . I am useing white and grey compound . Thanks Dan
Yeah, it is a long process but worth it in the end. Take your time and don't let heat build up in one spot too much. Other than that just wear a mask and make sure anything you want to stay clean is covered up.
Wear the crappiest clothes you own ready to be thrown
into the trash can when done. Cloth gloves are a must.
Beer is a must. Any grooves try to smooth out as best
possible without too aggressive a grit. Finish off with Mothers
or 3M polishing compound used for car paint buffer wheels.
Also I used to use Scotch Brite pads for alot of corner work.
I need to know how to remove the needle bearings out of the swing arm . I was thinking of grinding a washer two sides so it will go in and use a rod to drive it out , any help would help . Thanks . Dan
