Good to be here.

Rode a Ninja 500 from 1998 to 1999 and was hit by a car. Moved on to a 1999 Yamaha R6 for about a year and was hit by a 16 year old running a red light cause she was late to band reherssal. In 2001 bought a Yamaha R1 and had that until 2002 when a tree was thrown into my bike while on base housing at my Marine Corps base at Camp Lejeune. LOL

In 2003 purchased a Hayabusa and in 2004 T-boned a car at 60mph and flew over the roof because she crossed three lanes of traffic without signaling. Took a break from motorcycles from 2004 to 2017 and missed riding every day.

In 2017, decided I wanted to get back on a bike. Wife asked me to not go for anymore crotch rockets, so I got a Harley Davidson FXSB Breakout. It was an enjoyable bike, but I always had the itch to get back on a sport bike. I never really was that in to Harleys.

Convinced the wife to let me go back to a sports bike and just purchased a 2019 ZX-14R.

Heres to hoping all my bad luck is behind me and it is smooth riding from here. I'm 42 now and not sure how many times more I can get hit … LOL …

God the raw power of this bike. I love the thing already and have only had it 2 days. I am very impressed with the new technology on the bikes compared to years ago. Traction control was our throttle hand and ABS was simply not locking up the brakes. The new tech is amazing.

Anyways, it's great to be here. Now to go figure out how to take the damn side off the bike to put a battery tender on. I heard it's a pain in the ass on the zx-14. LOL

Side panel isn't that bad.
Once the bolts are out you just wiggle the panel backwards
Make sure the rubber snubber on the front mount is loose and move the panel straight back
If you try and pull it "out" the front will get stuck

Sounds like we were on the same stomping grounds at the same time back in LeJurne, 2002.

I was with 2/10.

Nice. Ran and hiked up River Run Road many times. I pumped out in 03 with the MEU that got turned around.

I’m glad to hear you are back riding on a proper bike.

You’ll be fine. If the Corps didn’t kill you, a car sure as hell won’t either.
