Hey guys,


There is a pipe that runs down the bike from near the bottom of the tank that has been leaking gas. ( there are bout 3 coming from different places). The full tank I had for storage leaked out of that pipe throughout the last month. Its directly connected to the back of the tank. Is it an overflow or something else? .. What should I do?!

How did you set the tank down?

It could have been leaking from the cap and then down from around the rim of the gas cap. If you spray water at the gas cap you will notice that there is a drain for that area. If the tank is stored "upright" or on one end, gas WILL leak from the cap.

No it was not overfilled. Full tank of gas leaked out of the pipe that is near the back of the tank.

There is more than one pipe back there.

Yes there 3 in total I believe. 2 go into the carbs area and one is from the back of the tank (the one that is leaking). The pipe just hangs and is not connected to anything

What year is yours? My P model has more than one on the back of the tank.

Perhaps you should take pics and point out the offending hose.

its a 1995 zx7 L

sounds like its the overflow, might be rotted in the tank! :scared
