hi guys 2006 zzr6oo any ideas why two of the exhaust pipes coming off the motor are 200 deg and 2 are400 deg and the 2 200s are next to each other and obviously the 400 ones are together thanks for any thoughts

Left to right (sprocket to clutch) they’re numbered 1..2..3..4. So 1 & 2 are hot and 3 & 4 are cold or vice-versa? Not 1 & 4 and 2 & 3?

06 Zzr600 sounds like a rebadged, older Zx6R model. Does it have shared coils or stick coils?

You also have to think about where you take the measurement from, because exhaust valves 2 and 3 plus 6 and 7 have fresh air coming in so are normally a little cooler.

But I would guess your carburation is off and there is less fuel going to the hotter ones or too much fuel going to the cooler ones, a carb balance would probably help is what I would try first, if that does not help then I would be checking what size jets are fitted where, as the center two normally have slightly bigger jets (smaller numbers on them if factory) to allow more fuel to keep the center cylinder running slightly cooler.

from left to right facing the front of the carbs 1 2 are 400 3 4 are 200 it has cop coils individuals

Swap coils 3 & 4 to 1 or 2 (one at a time) to rule out bad coil(s).

It could be fuel delivery issue but I think there is only a single fuel supply line between the #2 & 3 carbs. It’s possible that both right carbs have a fuel obstruction at the fuel Tee…

so the swapping of coils did not change anything i should note that i have a exhaust system that i thought would work well and at the moment im running a small engine vacuum operated fuel pump i have the electric one coming but im not sure if these will cause the issue but im putting the proper stuff on when i get it this kart is in a mock up stage still but getting close to be ready to go so do you think i need to get the stuff on then go after this prob once it warms up the motor is very mean but i dont like the exhaust temps so far off i know the carbs are as clean as a carb can be making what i build in top performance shape is important to me so gunked up carbs and worn plugs and dirty oil and dry chains and grime ridden motors with leaks arent my thing just so you dont have to think those kind of possibilities cause thats a waste of your time and thinking i dont want to be that guy thanks for any of your time i appreciate it

I had the same issue with my bike last year. I did the valve shims then a carb balance. that cured the issue
The reason the pipes are getting to different heats is die to the valve either staying open slightly to much or not enough

well there is an answer i was hoping not to hear lol do these motors tend to have any noise up by the inlets on the air box housing that almost sounds like an air pump not sure if thats a good description or its not like a hissing or air leak but more like the actual sound of the movement of a pump not sure if thats any better described lmao but thanks for your time sharing that deep down ive been in denial about this needing a valve adjustment

Valve shims arent a big job, just dont drop them. Took me 3 days to find the shim i dropped.
ive only ever done it twice and it takes a couple of hours on my engine (zx9r B) i dont have to remove the camshafts, not sure about yours
