Soo im searching oodley for a 600cc bike and I come across this add that seems like its almost to good to be true. This guy is selling an 08 r6 with 9k miles for 2100$ but I dont see the bike on ebay, ill put up a post of his add and show you the convo we have had.

http://2008yamahayzfr6zzz.weebly.com/

Hello and thanks for your interest,

the bike is still for sale and is in excellent condition as you can see from the pictures.
Some minor plastic scratches,no accidents or any kind of damage and it has a clear title.
If you are interested in buying it, the price is $2,100.00 and this is with shipping costs to your location included. I'm selling the bike because I can't use it due to my new job (I work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship) and I don't have anyone in the US to whom I can give it.
All documents, including owner's manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the bike.
Also about payment and shipping I will use only eBay Vehicle Protection Program so we can both be protected.
If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name and address so I can initiate the deal through eBay.
I am looking forward to hear from you.

Thank You,
Alan Carley

Alan I actually live in columbus and I would like to come see the bike sometime. txt or call me at

Hello again,
I'm sorry for the delay in my response but I have a lot of work in casino. The bike is already at the shipping company in Miami - FL, crated and ready for the shipping. The shipping process will take between 4-5 days, depending on your location. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them.
As I said in the first email I work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship and I can't meet you or bring you the bike, so that's why I am using a shipping company.
Since this is an online transaction I wanted the both of us to be safe so for this deal I am using eBay Purchase Protection, and that means that you have 5 days from the time you receive the bike to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not.
Here is how it works:
1.First of all I will need the following details from you:
- Full Name
- Full Shipping Address
2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay Purchase Protection.
3. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices.Your funds will be 100% insured by eBay Purchase Protection.
4. eBay Purchase Protection will contact me and I will ship the bike to you. After you receive the bike you will have 5 days to test, verify and do whatever you need to the bike. If you will buy it, then I will receive the payment.
5. If you will decide that you will not buy the bike, I will have the shipping company come pick up my bike.
If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed!
Thank you.

It sounds like its worry free to me, but I am still kinda weirded out by it, its just what im looking for and just the price im looking for, but ive never heard of anyone doing this.

If you are worried about buying something, then don't buy it. If you want a level of protection you could use a credit card and if it does turn out to be a scam you can get a charge back done.

Those things are a scam for sure. This isn't the first time I have seen that exact same sale. Details about the seller vary, but the scams are always the same.

You never buy anything unless it is face to face. You especially never pay for anything before you have seen it.

He is paying for the crate and the shipping to you for $2,100 dollars. This is too good to be true. And you said you couldn't find the bike on ebay. That's because it's not listed.

He could unload the bike at a Miami dealer or even a pawn shop for $ 2,000 cash if the title is good and the bike is in salable condition. Tell him thanks but no thanks. What will these people think of next?

For 2100 dollars, I would buy a train ticket and go see the bike myself.

The bike got FLUSH LED SMOKE TURN SIGNAL, Taillight+Turn Signal, and INTEGRATED MINI MIRRORS with a SIGNAL lights. which it makes the bike look better than the orginal one. Also got a Two Brothers Exhaust. And BLACK FRAME
SLIDERS. The tires are new, only 2 months old.
2nd fail. as a dealer at a casino, he can't speel for shit or gots good grammar

If YOU read, it says they will collect payment before you get to do anything with the bike.

That's how people get scammed, not reading the stuff. He claims he will not get the money until after you agree to buy the bike. But you still have to pay up before it happens.

Search craigslist religiously, something will turn up, and it'll be relatively local so you can check out bikes in person.

with 10k+ miles, i was told to look for stuff under 10k miles, any suggestions on what i should look for when buying?

right now im looking at an 08 650r with 11687 miles from a healer for 4.5k and i could probably get em down to about 4k. what do u guys think.

I think you should go ride it.
The 650R really does it all. Maybe not the best track bike. Do you really plan to ride the track anytime soon? You can always trade the 650 in a year or so after you find out what kind of riding you really enjoy. Mileage is only a secondary consideration. Bike condition is more important. Are there maintenance records? This is a BIG plus. Look at the tires and the chain. Try to have the bike started after it's been sitting awhile. Just pretend you're buying something like a Corvette or some hi-po used car. The newer 650s even look great, especially the green ones.

These are always a scam - too good to be true.

I messed around with a guy selling a R1 in mint condition for like 2500 and they said the same thing. You aren't protected under the Ebay rule that they use.

Anyways he wouldn't let me see the bike before and they say that they are always in a different area.

Like a cruise ship.:crackup
Sorry, but that has to be the best one yet.
I guess it could be a possibility but most of those people live on the ship and only get a couple weeks off a year. I don't see any of them owning a bike like that.
