I got my 55w kits in the mail today. The part that goes to the factory harness is just 2 spade connectors and not a plug. Is that how it is supposed to be? Seems like your asking for water to get in there and cause corrosion..... Are they doing this to make it universal? I also got 2 "h11" bulbs but called about that and the h9 and h11 are interchangeable I guess since it is the H9 you have to modify the tab on. Someone step in if this doesn't sound right.

Hey buddy having connectors and no plugs doesn't sound right all. I have both hid Ddm high and low and both have connectors in plugs. I would call them buddy.

Thats how mine are.

"Universal" ones don't come with plugs.... because they are universal. Mine just has a couple spade terminals that fit snugly into the lamp connector and then they were wrapped in tape by the PO.

I didn't buy a universal kit. But I am wondering if they are doing it that way so they don't have to put a different connector on the ballast for each kit. Does that sound right about the bulbs having 2 h11's? I am also very surprised they do not send out wiring instructions with the kits...

idk about the bulbs, but whether you bought a universal kit or not doesn't mean you don't have one. At any rate, my bike has spent 5k miles in my possession with them just taped up. Who knows how many before me. And when I unwrapped them, they were spotless.

You read the package.

Or go buy a very expensive color meter.

i am also looking at ordering the ddm kit and was wondering if you can use 2 h11 instead of buying two seperate kits? (saves 10 bucks) OP how did yours work out?

You know what kelvin they are by looking at the order sheet, or just remembering what you ordered.

55w kits will wash the color out.

And I know the 9004/9007 kits use the same ballast etc... and you just have to put the pins in the connector yourself because they use the same shape connector, just a different pinout.

2 h11 bulbs works fine. I got a 35w kit for high and low. Was plug and play. My harnesses came with the connectors though on the 35w kit. I decided to try the 55w kit for the high beam so I ordered a single kit which came today and noticed it only had the bare spades with no connector attached like my 35w kit has. Wonder if it's just the 55w kits that come like this. I'll probably just use the harness from the 35w kit or at least the connector.

wish I would have read this thread sooner. I ordered a h9 and a h11 kit, but instead that send me 2 h11 bulbs with spade terminal like all of you are talking about. Sounds like ddm is starting to become cheap asses! Long story short h11's do fit into both sockets and I will be calling ddm first thing on Monday to request my 15 dollars back they over charged me.

also for those thinking there going to get the adapter, instead of the spade terminal if they order the 35w kit instead of the 55 watt kit. I just found this on a different forum. The guy ordered 35 watt kit with slim ballast and still got 2 spade terminals

So I recently purchased a DDMTuning HID kit from XenonExpert.com which I had been referred to through this forum. After purchasing a 5K 35W H11 HID Kit with Slim Ballasts I wanted to provide a review highlighting some of the shortcomings so that the next person has their eyes wide open if they choose to go this route.

First and foremost, XenonExpert.com orders their kits directly from DDMTuning and they ship from China. This means that you can go to DDMTuning.com and order exactly the same product from exactly the same place for less than half the price:
Xenon Expert - $85 + $20 Shipping (which took 2 full weeks to arrive)
DDMTuning - $40 + $20 Shipping

Secondly, here are my highlights:
1. There was no mounting bracket included for the ballast
a. The kit says to mount the ballast with double sided tape (which was not even included in my kit)
2. There was a huge sealed box inline in the wiring harness (possibly a relay?) that will sway and bump around if not secured as well
a. No notation or recommendation at all for secure placement of this piece
3. No installation instructions included or available on XenonExpert website
a. I had to go to DDMTuning.com to download install instructions
4. There was no H11 mating connector included in the install harness – just two spade like terminals that are to be plugged in (VERY UNSECURELY BTW) to the H11 headlight socket in the vehicle
a. I used electrical tape ( as this is all I had readily available) to make sure that these terminals did not come unplugged from the H11 headlight socket
5. The ballast is extremely noisy during startup – I sincerely recommend adding a rubber sleeve the ballast could be installed into to decrease noise… the startup noise is annoying and embarrassing

I mounted my ballasts directly above my headlamp assembly because this was easy and it started snowing on me. Knowing just how noisy these things are on startup, I will try to find another mounting location deeper in the engine bay somewhere. Hopefully this helps the next person...

I just put on the dual 55w kits (high and low) on my ZX14, and they did not come with connectors either. I did what most everyone else does, but changed it up a little. What I did was to remove the colored lock tap on the factory connector and remove the wiring terminals from the connector. Put their blade connector into the factory wire, taped them up and then taped both wires together.

If you want to, you could go and solder the wiring teminals together and use some heat shrink to have a sealed connection.

They sent the same bulbs for both the highs and low kits, the only thing i seen different between the H9 and H11 bulbs was the terminal wiring end. Where they fit into the headlight housing are shaped the same.

I think the only difference in the h9 and the H11 ( think h8 is the same way) is the connector. ddm's way to save money is not to include the connector and they can sell u h8-h9-h11 with 1 stock number.

I also called ddm and they refunded me my 15 dollars I over paid to buy 2 single kits (h9+h11). They also no longer include the mounting tape because people were not following the directions when using it and they would call them and complain.

IMO.. there is not much setting ddm out from the rest of the generic ebay hid companies anymore. just my 2 cents
