Hello everybody.

I have been contemplating some sort of a rack for the back of my 14. Last year I bought a Corbin seat with the backrest for the lady. Now I need some extra hauling capacity. Since the hole to mount the backrest is a square, there should be an easy solution to my problem. I want something that can be used with or without the backrest installed.

I found one on ebay but it says it will only hold 10 pounds. Is there anyone else who makes one like this design? Or should I try and make one myself? I have a buddy in a machine shop.

This is the one I found on ebay.

I had the exact same idea a few weeks back.

I have looked at those before and arent a very quick removal. I would like to have something like the one I posted so I can remove it and not have anything visible. The set screw on the pivot actually adjusts the angle of the rack.

I just mounted an SW-Motch Alu-Rack and it's quite a bit more substantial than the one that attaches to the back of the Corbin backrest. Interestingly, Givi recommends a load of no more than 19 lbs for the topcase that attaches to the Alu-Rack.

I had my old one loaded down once with a case of beer+ice and although it carried it OK, it made the bike handle like a log wagon around turns. What would you need to carry that weighs more than 10 lbs?
