Replacing both tires on my 08 14. I know it's a matter of opinions, but any feed back would be appreciated, as well as a reason why you like/think your choice is best. THANKS GUYS!

It's like an oil thread...but!...
Seriously, EVERY one of my riding friends have converted to the Michelin Pilot Road 2 OR 3...EVERYONE. Ride as hard as you like. You will get at least 5000 miles out of a set on the 14. I just had my third set installed, I like them that much. On my ZRX1200R I even ran a track day with them. No problems at all. Awesome tires, IMHO and under $300 for a set in many places. Oh, and make it a 190/55 rear versus the stock 190/50 for a little better turn in response.

I run the michelin pures. I chose those because I have used them for everything. Taken the 14 to the drag stip and I ran in the high 9's (my friend ran in the low 9's on my bike), land speed raced them to 221mph, drag knee with them at a track day and ride on the street for about 12000 miles. Only reason I would change tires is when I run on the salt since you would want a harder compound or use what bill warner uses which is the contiental race attack tires... did 311mph on those for 1.5miles

My two cents

yep, still have the receipt. I have to say it was a special sale last year.
Hammerhead told me about signing up for their deals and sure enough they had the tire sale and I grabbed a pair even though i didn't need them yet.
All I did was bring my receipt to the store and they only charge $10 for mount and balance when you buy tires from them.

On a ZX14?
Accidentally type in an extra zero, there?

Nope, 12,000+ miles. 3 sets of tires. They had at least 1000 miles left on them but I don't let the tire get worn down like my friends do

Try some Michelins. Everyone usually tries them first.
Then try other manufacturers: Pirelli, Dunlop, Metzeler

You will never know until you try the others. Sportbike tires are usually redesigned every 2 years or so with minor improvements. Even if you ride your bike only on the weekends, you will still put around 6 to 8,000 miles a year on the tires. So you will need 2 sets of tires for the 14 conservatively unless you drive like your 91 year old grandmother. i agree to watch for the sales. Ask for the manufacture date. You don't want tires that have been hiding on some shelf for 4 years.

I currently have PR2s, but when the stocks run out, I will be looking for another superceded tire. The advent of the PR3s has made the 2s pretty cheap.
