Torrance police reopen closed section of PCH

Police have re-opened a stretch of Pacific Cost Highway in Torrance after closing it down for nearly four hours while they investigated a suspicous package.
Sheriff’s bomb squad officers examined the black and yellow object and then blew it up.
It appeared to be a XENA motorcycle wheel lock.
Pacific Coast Highway between Hawthorne Boulevard and Anza Avenue was shut down soon after police received a call at 7:01 a.m. to report the suspicious package, according to officer Dave Crespin.
The item was found on a newspaper stand in front of the McDonald’s at 3880 Pacific Coast Highway, Crespin said.
