Hey guys,
Got a question. I'm on the tail end of a bring back to life project. I got a 90 ZX7 that's been to pieces and back. I am trying to remove the airbox to get to the fuel pump so I can find out why its not pumping fuel. I cannot get the airbox off. It moves slightly upward but is stuck to the Carb.
So my question is this. Is it connected to the carbs via bolts that are hidden?? Shouldn't they just pop off??
Thanks,
Matt

Maybe it has bolts holding it in place inside the airbox like these two. If you see two rubber grommets on top of the airbox, those are access openings. However, most people just remove the lid to expose the entire inside. :dunno Maybe this doesn't apply to a 1990 ZX-7, but it should give you ideas on how to properly unbolt the airbox.

There is a total of eight bolts, two for each carb, there should be two exposed and the other six are inside the box. remove the six round plugs and use a long extension to get to them. once they are loose the airbox will come out freely, you shouldnt have to use any force to remove the airbox.
