Aftermarket fairings

While it would of been nice to buy all OEM replacement fairings for her they were way out of my price range. I did a lot of research on aftermarket fairings and from what I found there's a company named ZXMT that is supposed to make a decent quality product. Specifically they don't glue on the mounting tabs and the fitment was supposed to be good. I ordered I one of their kits, 22 pieces, so it included everything needed for $360. Here's some of the pieces....

I was immediately impressed with the quality of the fairings. The plastic is sturdy and pliable. The mounting points are beefy and the paint is decent enough. I took my time and transferred over the foam from the stock fairings and any brackets such as the front blinker brackets

The further I got on the install the more impressed I became by this product. I did zero drilling, only cursed a few times at my own incompetence, and every part fit as it should. There are a few very minor gaps in a spot or two that probably wouldn't be with OEM but overall these fairings are an absolute steal for $360. The bike looks basically brand new and I couldn't be happier with my decision to go with this company for the fairings.

For now I'm going to ride for the season then this winter probably powder coat the wheels, swingarm and paint frame.

I did. I read somewhere, can't remember where, and I'm not sure if this is true to be honest that ZXMT supplies 80% of the aftermarket fairings on the market and that a lot of the companies out there rebrand and paint them as their own but when you get them you will see that on the inside of the fairings it will be stamped ZXMT. My fairings obviously do have the ZXMT stamp, it's part of the mold so if other companies are using ZXMT you will know once you receive them. I contacted a few different companies, Mad Hornet being one of them but they didn't reply to me. The reason I contacted other companies to ask if they were using the ZXMT product was because I was wanting their product but also looking for the best quality paint job I could get.
If you go to Mad Hornets ZX14 fairing section you will see 63 reviews but if you start reading the reviews you will see there is 63 reviews for all of their fairings it's not ZX14 specific. After going thru a few pages out of the 63 none were for the 14 fairings and the reviews from USA customers weren't that flattering. Mad Hornet might make fantastic fairings but I wasn't willing to take the chance

Yes. You can differently see through the screen with a light smoke. There are some pictures of my 9 with the dark screen around here somewhere. See if I can dig up a link and post it for you. Been giving some thought to placing some auto window tenting on the back side of the screen right at the gauge line. Enough to clean up the look a little. We'll see what happens.

I'm very sure you're aware of this product, but this is the only protectant to use between waxes on ABS plastics, acrylic screens even paint work. Plexus. A little on the expensive side but well worth it. Comes from the Aviation industry. Used to clean and polish small and mid sized aircraft. You can get it at you motorcycle dealer. NEVER use anything but a micro fiber cloth on pretty much anything 😎👍.

I have a Puig double bubble dark smoke
I don't think I've ever been tucked in enough to look through the windscreen.
At least not for extend period of time.
I'm usually glancing to the right or left or down at the gauges

Anyone with any experience with the touring option?
